More exploring...

Check out this killer panorama view from my dorm. The skies are super blue from the rain these days.

There are lots of beautiful ponds filled with catfish and floating lillypads.

I have about 3 or 4 hours after work before it gets dark each day so I just take off on my trusty steed (see below) and go exploring the city. It would be much less intimidating with somebody else with me, but it's still really fun.

Once you leave this West Gate to Tsinghua the adventure really begins though! The streets are filled with crazy drivers and buses everywhere. I swear I was almost ran over 10 times! The buses have people that they pay to hang out the windows and yell at people in the way. There is no rhyme or reason to crossing roads- I mean, they have the little walking man in green and flashing red hand at intersections but they might as well not be there at all. Cars, people, bikes, wagons, and everyone else just goes as they like and the one who looks least likely to stop (or most likely to yell and honk) gets to go.

I snuck up on old men fishing for catfish.

Here's one last good video from a park I found.

  1. It is so beautiful there. Does it make you want to come home and plant a garden and design a Koi pond?
