The Charles River Regatta

On Saturday, we bundled up, jumped on our bikes, and pedaled down Mass Ave. to Cambridge to check out the famous Charles River Regatta. I almost died (not really, but it seemed like it) riding down such a busy street, and vowed to buy Taylor a helmet-
that's how he gets to school everyday.

Harvard Square was swarming with people from all over, and I nearly hit several of them on my bike. There were tons of vendors and people giving out free treats Yay! Free ice cream in like 20 degree weather, yippee!
We had a great time people watching. We even saw a bunch of boys pretending to play Quiddich- and one of them convinced their little brother it would be loads of fun to be the golden Snitch
(by wearing a gold leotard and fairy wings).if you click the picture you can see him good, right in the middle

We took some hot cocoa in a thermos and a blanket, and it was fun to sit on the banks of the river and watch the boats. I always thought they race each other, but I guess they just time it and go by that. Whatever. It was cold, but we couldn't miss out on a unique Boston cultural event (no seriously it was cold, it snowed huge flakes the next day).

  1. Buy the helmet TODAY. Seriously, it's DANGEROUS riding on the streets around here. Buy. The. Helmet. :)

  2. I'm a little jealous of the scarves and hats in the crisp fall/winter weather. You could be deprived of it all together like us. Your hair is getting long Jodi! Cute, but I'm starting to go through David Bowie withdrawels....

  3. The golden snitch story is hilarious! It sounds enduring the cold was totally worth it, if for no other reason than seeing that poor soul wearing a golden leotard. What fun!

  5. What a fun day! I would not have gone on bikes, but I don't deal well with cold. And I love that golden snitch.
