Dress design for Shabby Apple Dresses

I stumbled across this little design contest happening, and with my loads of free time, I figured what the heck. I loved drawing up clothes for my paper dolls when I was younger, so why not take a shot at it for reals? If I win, I get to see people wearing a dress I made and get a royalty off it. I have to put them on the blog in order to enter. I made multiple,
so I will post them all in the next few days.

Here's the first:
This dress would be a matte charmeuse fabric with ruffles along the neckline and down the front with faux buttons and a side zipper.
It could be in a variety of spring colors, but I really like the golden yellow.
I've always like front ruffles on shirts, but never dared to wear them-so that inspired me to put them down the front of the skirt.

  4. That is a cute dress! I really like it. Someone couldn't steal it off of you blog could they?!

    Your family and talent, sheesh!
Could you design, and make me a black dress for Russ & Kira's wedding? :) I've looked at Shabby Apple but the ones I like are knee length. I like to be just a bit over. I hate worrying if my G's are showing.

Also, I LOVE the new look of your blog. It actually could be an old look- I just rarely go to the acutal blog because of Google Reader. In anycase- I like it. :)
