A good message... and what is wrong with people?

A leader from our church, Dallin H. Oaks, delivered a very powerful message to BYU students yesterday about religious freedom. Although it is not specifically addressed to California's Prop 8, he does discuss the subject. I won't go into any of the politics because-whew! Been there done that, and boy was that a difficult time for everyone involved-but it is an important topic particularly to us because of our experience. I believe what he says and admire it.
Read about it here.

And did you hear about the 6 year old in Delaware who was so excited about being a new Cub Scout that he brought his new tiny pocket knife (because it had a spoon he could eat lunch with) to school and was ordered suspended for 45 days? Or what about the 17 yr old Eagle Scout who got suspended for 20 days because he had a 1.5 inch knife in a survival kit locked in his car (in the school parking lot)?
These cases in the same country where people are complaining because we are too harsh on
terrorists who are killing people?

I think something needs to be done about this zero-tolerance policy. Glad to hear at least that the suspension on the 6 yr old was lifted.
