Clambake 2010

Our ward has an awesome tradition that has been ongoing since 1952 of doing a traditional New England Clambake. This year was #58 and it was a hoot! Like last year Jodi and I pretty much spent the whole time loading trailers, getting the place ready, cooking and cleaning up but we love it.

I'm an official lobster/clam cooking champion.
So many people came! My favorite was when people who weren't from our ward would come eat too, they were always so surprised at how welcoming us Mormons are. There was a group of 8 or so Chinese people that came through the line that were shocked when I started jibber jabberin with them in Mandarin.
The beaches in the northeast are beautiful.
The day was so warm and nice! The water wasn't even too cold to swim in, it was actually about the same temperature as Santa Barbara.

  1. That looks so fun! Can we come next year? We will hide behind the Chinese tourists...

  2. Are the leaves ready for me yet? I need a quick get out of town card. Ralph Harper (aka old man in the cul-de-sac) just asked me out to dinner. YUCK.

  3. Wish we could have found cheaper airline tickets. I so want to come visit.
